Since 1955 Rick's Nursery has been providing their customers with the kind of personallized service they deserve.
Chuck’s main focus is on the financial side of the business ensuring that Rick’s gets the biggest bang for the buck and that we pass that along to our customers in the form of the lowest price possible for the best product money can buy. Chuck’s background includes twenty years in the military followed by ten years financial experience in the hospitality industry, and with over twenty years at Rick’s Nursery.
Chuck brings to the table his analytical thinking and concept of simplicity in dealing with financial and business matters, likely an extension of his extensive military and hospitality industry background. Even more importantly Chuck’s faith-based approach to both his business and personal endeavors forms a solid foundation both on and off the job.
Glen’s extraordinary knowledge of plants is what has earned her the quasi-official title of “Colorado Springs’ Rose Lady,” and the go-to person for identifying and knowing every tree, shrub and plant in the Nursery. She has spent the past decade at Rick’s sharpening her plant knowledge and ensuring customer’s find exactly what they want on every visit. Glen is also responsible for the award winning five-star service customers experience when they shop at Colorado Springs’ oldest nursery. Glen is a Colorado Certified Nursery Professional (CCNP).
Glen has always had a special interest in the outdoors and plants, going back to when we were stationed overseas. She has also used her talent in a practical way installing numerous plants in her own little corner of the world, at home. At one time having over one-hundred roses in her own flower beds. Glen has a large library of gardening books and spends hours perusing them and other sources to learn the latest techniques for successfully growing the best plants in the Pikes Peak Region. She is one of a rare few people who can identify plants just from the bark, in the winter, even when they have no leaves. Glen’s faith is also an essential ingredient to our philosophy of honesty and fairness in conducting business both with our vendors and our customers.

We employee other members of our family as well, including our son, Adam and his wife Kathy. Adam coordinates our in-house maintenance and supervises some of our landscaping efforts. Kathy works in sales and coordinates Rick’s delivery and planting and locates before we dig in customer’s yards. Our grandson, Adison works on our delivery and planting crew and has become an expert on how to best install plants to ensure their survival in our high-desert climate. Our daughter, Katrina has remodeled the front desk and signage to make shopping at Rick’s easier and more along the self-help line. All have grown in their knowledge of plants and customer relations, and we count on them for their support and consider them essential to Rick’s success.
Our basic thinking and approach to dealing with others is wrapped up in a passage of Scripture…Philippians 2:4, which reads: “Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4, NASB).
